I thought that my voyage had come to its end at the last limit of my power,---that the path before me was closed, that provisions were exhausted and the time come to take shelter in a silent obscurity.
But I find that thy will knows no end in me. And when old words die out on the tongue, new melodies break forth from the heart; and where the old tracks are lost, new country is revealed with its wonders.
In this poem Tagore wants to say that even though he can see and feel that the journey of his is towards the end, he thinks that God knows that there will be a new journey of a new life will be waiting for him. A literary device in this poem was metaphors such as "And when old words die out on the tongue" when he wanted to relate it to a new beginning. First Stanza As he was approaching his last days, the opportunities of his life had come to an end and his physical power is being narrowed down. He had to stop worrying about the outside world and focus on his inner strength. Second Stanza Despite his feeling towards approaching death, he was sure that God had a good new life waiting for him ahead which will have new words, new roads, and new amazement to go over the old.
